Folder Overview

  • Your website is made up of Folders and Artwork, beginning with your Home Page Folder. Each Folder can contain other Folders or pieces of artwork, just like the folders and files on your computer. You should give each Folder a name and a description to help visitors to your website understand how you have organized your work.
  • The organization of your website is entirely up to you. You might divide your work into categories based upon theme, medium or when you created the work. For example, your Home Page Folder might contain Folders called “Photography”, “Installation” and “Performance”. The “Photography” folder could then contain folders called “New Work” and “Archive” - these folders would then contain specific pieces.
  • OPP highly recommends that you think carefully about the organization of your site, to make it easy to navigate. Too many nesting Folders can frustrate viewers. Viewers would likely prefer to click through more images in a single Folder, than have to leave that Folder and click-through to another. Just something to keep in mind.
  • In your Control Panel, if you want to see the work that is inside of each Folder, please go to you Manage Artwork Page and make sure that the (+) sign next to the Folder name, which is in bold, is clicked on so that it looks like a (-) sign. This will make the Folder expand and will display all of the work within that Folder.
  • Remember that clicking on the Folder name itself while in your Manage Artwork Page means that you want to edit something about the Folder – such as the thumbnail image, or the Folder name – not the Images inside of it.
